Opira Morise Kato: “This song is about life in IDP-camps, where people stayed during the insurgency between the Lord’s Resistance Army and the Ugandan government. People were longing to return back home and live a peaceful life. Unfortunately, even after the war has ended and people left the camps, there are still many land-issues and much distrust exists among the families.”

Opira sings in Acholi-language and plays on a traditional Ugandan instrument called ‘Adungu’. He made this acoustic instrument into an electrical one. With some built-in pickups (out of an old radio) powered by batteries and two Sony HiFi speakers, he is good to go!
