Ogwang Clipper: “This song is about illegal killings. Most of these killings were done between the Acholi tribe and the Lango tribe. There were no direct confrontations, but it happened during nightly guerrilla attacks.”

Ogwang Clipper plays ‘nanga’, a traditional instrument with seven nylon strings in a wooden box. Clipper is one of the most experienced and respected nanga players in northern Uganda. He performs with his female counterpart on vocals and his dancers with whistle and bells. Even his broken foot in plaster didn’t keep Clipper from coming all the way from his village to Kitgum town to perform this song.
